Fun fact: Stephen King didn’t like Kubrik’s interpretation of the story. Which I can totally understand because the book is really quite different… yet the same? It offers the basics but that’s about it. The movie can stand on its own feet without the book, it’s complete both in visuals and story. But the depth of everything in the book is simply haunting on a level that the movie doesn’t even begin to touch.
